SYNTHESIS - The series of artworks positioned throughout the Kwinana City Centre landscape share certain visual elements and common forms with one and other that emerge and again retreat into the paved landscape. The partially submerged objects imply that an unseen subterranean network exists beneath them forming a physical connection that links each to the other so that collectively they read as a single artwork comprised of several parts. Each instance or element protruding from the ground however can also read as an individual artwork that represents a theme or themes specific to its location within the city centre landscape. Together the sections create an artistic narrative that communicates a view of the world that places emphasis on the networks of relationships that connect all things rather than on the things themselves as isolated entities. It draws inspiration from scientific observations that validate such a view.
